The Windsor Community Foundation has local expertise, led by an Advisory Board with an in-depth understanding of the community needs.The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of the WCF and makes recommendations which are in the best interests of the citizens of the greater Windsor area.

MIKE CAREY

Although a Nebraska native, Dr. Carey has lived in Colorado since childhood and in Windsor since 1982.  He is a graduate of Colorado State University in Business Administration and served in the U.S Air Force for five years. After military service, he went on to study medicine and became a family physician.  He retired from full time medical work in 2017 but he still provides care at St. Matthew’s free clinic in Loveland and St. Luke’s Medical Care in Fort Collins on a frequent basis. Dr. Carey is active in the community with service organizations such as the Knights of Columbus and Rotary International and prison ministry with Kairos.  Dr. Carey has been married to his wife, Susan, since 1974, and they have four children.

JEFF HERTZKE

Jeff has worked for Points West Community Bank since 2011 and is the Branch President for their Water Valley location.  Prior to that he worked at Signature Bank for 7 years and Bank of Colorado for 11 years.  Jeff and his wife Jackie are both Windsor High School graduates.  They live in Windsor with their two children.

TOM JONES

Tom was born and raised in New York.  He attended Cornell University and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1966. After practicing veterinary medicine in Olean, NY for five years, Tom purchased the practice of Dr. Wayne Miller in Windsor and operated the Valley Veterinary Clinic (which later became the Windsor Veterinary Clinic) for 20 years.  Tom has been an active member of the Windsor community serving on the Windsor Town board for a total of 22 years, 4 of them as Mayor (1992-96). He also served terms on the Windsor Planning Commission, Water and Sewer Board, and Park and Recreation Board. Tom’s service also includes the Weld-Larimer Regional Council of Governments, the United Way of Weld County, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, the Weld County Veterinary Medical Association and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association Board of Control.  He is currently the chairman of the Great Western Trail Authority, a group tasked with developing an 11-mile recreational trail between Windsor and Eaton along a former railroad right-of-way.  He has been married to his wife, Kathleen, for 49 years.  They have three grown children and three grandchildren.

CINDY SAMPSON

Cindy has been employed with Bank of Colorado for 18 years.  She is Regional Treasury Management Officer and Vice President at the Windsor location.  She is actively involved in the community, serves as an ambassador for the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and teaches Junior Achievement in the Windsor School District.  Cindy and her husband Jim are Colorado Natives and have been Windsor residents since 1997, where they raised their 3 children who all graduated from Windsor High School.
